The Sankofa Music Education Program is a culturally grounded youth music program designed to develop young musicians through hands-on learning, mentorship, and community connection.

Our Story
Melanin Day School Academy (MDSA) began in 2020 as a space for families of African descent to learn, grow, share and play together.
What started with community learning experiences has grown into a village of families, educators, artists, wellness practitioners and community partners creating culturally grounded opportunities for children and families.
Through education, holistic wellness, creative expression and global connection, we create spaces where families can reconnect with culture, build community and learn across generations.
